Is Botulinum Toxin A for me?
Botox is for everyone. Whether you have already formed undesired wrinkles when frowning, smiling etc. or whether you would like to prevent them from appearing, botox is the answer!
Botox can also be used in other ways, for example reducing a gummy smile or a dimpled chin.
It is important for us to know your goals, we can help you figure out if botox is the way to go. This is why we always provide you with a 100% free consultation.
How much does it cost?
Botox is usually priced out per unit. At NoLa we charge $9 per unit. We keep our prices competitive and will often run promotions.
How do I prepare for the procedure?
We encourage you to ask questions. We want you to be comfortable and feel safe in our care. You do not have to worry about any preparation, leave it all to us.
Your procedure will go a little something like this:
Step 1 - Reviewing your health history and working with you to identify your goals Step 2 - Cleansing the face Step 3 - Injecting the botox into the desired area(s) Step 4 - Going over post-treatment instructions
What are the possible side effects or risks associated with botox injections?
Side effects are minor. Some patients can experience bruising or redness immediately after the injection, which should only last a couple of hours. We will attempt to minimize this by holding pressure over the injected areas immediately after injection.
Rarely, botox can unintentionally diffuse into other areas and cause drooping eyelids, a crooked smile or similar complications. This is why it is important to go to a provider who has received specialized training in the injection of botox to minimize these complications.
At NoLa we will always call you to follow up on your injections to ensure that if for any reason you are unhappy or notice any complications, we can remedy them for you.
When will I start to see results?
You will begin to notice results within a 2-3 days.
Maximal effect will take place at the 2 week mark. For this reason, we will follow up with you at that time to ensure your results are desirable and that you do not require a touch up.
How long does botox last?
At NoLa we like to use Dysport, a brand of botox made by Galderma, one of the oldest and most trusted pharmaceutical companies providing botox.
We choose to use this product because it works the quickest - a few days, lasts the longest - a few months, & feels the most natural!
Does it hurt? How long does it take?
Injecting Botulinum Toxin A is a fairly painless and quick procedure. Many describe the small injections as very small pin pricks or mosquito bites. Others feel nothing.
The needles used to inject are very small and thin. They are also not injected very deep.
The whole procedure from start to finish is generally between 30-45 minutes.
Is there a recovery time?
You can go on about your day immediately after this minimally invasive procedure.
We do however reccomend that clients not lay down for at least 4 hours following injection. This is to avoid the possible movement of the botox to unintended areas of the face.
Similarly, it is important to avoid any vigorous activity especially those involving straining, bending down for at least 4 hours.
Do not rub the area or get a facial massage for at least 2 days after your injection.
Do not worry, we will give you these instructions after your procedure!
Can I get botox if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Botulinum Toxin A is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
